Overview:
Intuit is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in data modeling to join our team in a hybrid role based in Mountain View, CA. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex data challenges, design scalable data models, and contribute to high-impact projects across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, optimize, and implement robust, scalable data models tailored to business requirements.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, analytics, and product teams to deliver clean and reliable data pipelines.
Solve real-world data problems through structured and innovative approaches, documenting the problem context, methodology, and outcomes.
Develop and maintain efficient, large-scale ETL/ELT processes using PySpark and SQL.
Perform deep-dive analysis and implement performance optimizations for both modeling and query execution.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Data Modeling Expertise:
Proven experience in designing data models that support business analytics, reporting, and scalable data warehousing solutions.Problem-Solving Ability:
Ability to clearly articulate and solve complex data problems, including an understanding of problem origin, solution strategy, and business impact.Analytical Thinking:
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to apply both theoretical and practical approaches to address diverse data engineering challenges.
Level 2 Expectations:
Deep Technical Knowledge in Data Modeling:
Demonstrated ability to handle in-depth discussions and problem-solving on data modeling concepts. Understand the nuances between technologies such as columnar vs. row-based databases and their implications on model design.Advanced Coding Proficiency:
Python/PySpark: Capable of building robust, distributed data processing solutions using PySpark (preferred over Pandas due to scalability).
SQL: Expertise in writing complex, optimized SQL queries. Ability to handle subqueries, window functions, and advanced transformations not commonly understood by average candidates.
