Responsibilities
- Provides a comprehensive range of I&IT business analysis services for clients with diverse business and technological needs
- Interacts with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts in order to understand their requirements through gathering, documenting, and analyzing business needs and requirements
- Prepares and advises on business analysis policies, processes, best practices and standards to promote a comprehensive and consistent business analysis practice within the organization
- Provides holistic leadership across business analysis, project outcomes, and team of business analysts aligning their expertise with agile methodologies and ensuring effective collaboration.
- Interacts with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand their requirements through gathering, documenting, and analyzing business needs and requirements.
- Prepares and advises on business analysis policies, processes, best practices, and standards to promote a comprehensive and consistent business analysis practice.
- Fosters effective communication between the team, Product Owner, and stakeholders, ensuring a clear understanding of goals and requirements.
- Manage/groom product backlog based on user needs/prioritization input.
- Acts as a single point of contact for business analysis, agile leadership, and team coordination minimizing communication gaps, reducing the risk of misinterpretation, and promoting more effective project outcomes.
- Prepares training materials, training sessions on project delivery methodology in accordance with guidelines.
- Leads presentations/demonstrations of solution design and build for consultation group and stakeholders.
- Creates & reviews user flows and user stories, ensuring they meet the overall product vision and consistency across features.
- Supports QA, UAT, Architecture, and Technical activities to ensure quality and enterprise standards are met.
- Supports agile practices and encourages the improvement of service.
- Identifies gaps and improvements to enhance process flows/customer experience journeys.
- Responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, working closely with the product owner, including:
- Gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements
- Defining the product vision
- Ensuring that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals
- Translates product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes.
- Monitors progress, resolves problems and reports regularly to management and stakeholders.
- Conducts discovery, cost-benefit analysis, and prototyping.
- Scopes and prioritizes activities based on business and customer impact.
- Works closely with business and IT teams to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources.
- Identifies dependencies with other teams and determines how to manage those dependencies without impacting the progress of the team.
- Leads and conducts business analysis in order to assess client’s business problems/opportunities and documents the business requirements in such a way that I&IT solutions can be determined
- Applies re-engineering concepts to promote business improvements through alternative and cost effective service delivery approaches
- Leads and conducts business analysis at varying levels of detail appropriate to the project and phases of project, aligning with:
- OPS Unified Project Management Methodology
- Enterprise Architecture and Gating Process
- OPS Standard Systems Development Methodologies
- Develops strategies, prepares business cases and cost-benefit analysis, and conducts feasibility studies for business I&IT initiatives
- Develops sound processes for requirements gathering including but not limited to:
- JAD sessions
- Interviews
- Mockups
- Conducts:
- Business modeling
- Use case modeling
- Conceptual and logical data modeling
- Process and data flow modeling
- Use case surveys
- Business rules definition
- Non-functional requirements definitions for assigned projects
- Monitors progress, resolves problems and reports regularly to I&IT management and stakeholders
- Develops performance measures and traceability matrices for business analysis evaluation and conducts follow-up
- Experience developing strategies, preparing business cases and cost-benefit analysis
- Experience conducting requirements gathering, developing documentation, including presentations and briefing notes and conducting stakeholder engagement
- Experience in the use of Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools to document conceptual requirements and scope
- Awareness of emerging I&IT trends and technologies

- Experience leading Agile methodology and development teams in self-organization and identifying and filling in blanks in the framework.
- Experience mentoring and coaching the teams on removing impediments.
- Experience capturing feedback and documenting sprint reviews to administer project goals and improve team performance.
- Leads and conducts business analysis to assess client’s business problems/opportunities and documents the business requirements in such a way that I&IT solutions can be determined.
- Develops strategies, prepares business cases and cost-benefit analysis, and conducts feasibility studies for business I&IT initiatives.
- Experience leading requirements gathering, developing documentation, including presentations and briefing notes, and conducting stakeholder engagement.

- Business event modelling

- Experience in:
- Structured, object oriented and agile methodologies for user requirements
- Developing performance measures for business analysis evaluation and subsequent follow-up
- Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards
- Project Methodology certifications such as Agile Coach, Scrum Master, Lean Six Sigma Black/Green/Yellow Belt, etc.
- Knowledge of Ontario Public Service decision-making and project implementation processes is considered an asset.
